WHAT WE BELIEVE

WE BELIEVE IN HELPING PEOPLE KNOW JESUS:

“For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance; that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures…”

-The Apostle Paul, in his 1st letter to the Christians in Corinth:  ch. 15, vs.3-4

GOD:

There is one God; infinite, eternal, almighty and perfect in holiness, knowledge, truth and love. One God, in 3 distinct persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – is the foundation of Christian faith and life.

GOD THE FATHER:

God the Father is the Creator of heaven and earth, by His word and for His glory. He sovereignly sustains and governs all creation.

JESUS CHRIST:

All things were created through Him, the only begotten Son of God. He was and is God. He is God made flesh in the person of Jesus Christ; supernaturally conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary and lived a sinless human life. He is the only Savior for the sins of the world, having shed His blood and died a vicarious death on Calvary’s cross. By His death, God's justice is upheld so that those who believe in Him are made righteous and blameless before God, entering into an eternal fellowship with Him. He physically rose from the dead, overcoming death and eternal condemnation on our behalf. He ascended to Heaven where He remains the believer's advocate and is the head of the church.

HOLY SPIRIT:

The third person of the Trinity. The Holy Spirit leads people to trust in the grace, mercy, love and power of God, which is demonstrated in Christ, and to confess Jesus as their Lord. The Holy Spirit unites and empowers the believers. The Holy Spirit has come to bear witness to and glorify the Son, who has come to bear witness to and glorify the Father. The Holy Spirit desires to continually fill each believer with power to witness and imparts His supernatural gifts for the building up of the body and the work of the Church.

THE BIBLE:

The 66 books of the Bible are the essential and infallible record of God’s self-disclosure to mankind. In it's original form, the Bible is the inerrant word of God. The Bible is the definitive covenant for the life, worldview, doctrine and eternal destiny of the believer.

MANKIND:

Created in the “image of God” -both male and female- man is the pinnacle of creation, created to bring glory to his/her creator through our fellowship with Him. Man is, by nature, sinful and estranged from God yet subject to His governance. Depraved by his/her very nature, man is at enmity with God. Fallen, sinful people, whatever their character or attainments, are lost and without hope apart from salvation in Christ alone. Through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, man becomes the object of God's grace, mercy and affection.

THE CHURCH:

The Church is the fellowship and ministry of all who have become genuine followers of Jesus Christ and have personally appropriated the gospel. The purpose of the church and all who are a part is to make Disciples of Jesus Christ and to glorify the Father, Son and Holy Spirit on the earth.
